A Smashing Success: Halloween at the Sanctuary!

We opened the sanctuary to little ghouls & boos (girls & boys) who wouldn’t otherwise have had the chance to come due to our age restrictions for a festive day of animal meet-n-greets, family portraits, trick-or-treating, and pumpkin carving! We ended the event with a fun feeding of the jack-o-lanterns to the animals—you could say it was a “smashing” success as we smashed the pumpkins on the ground for them to devour!

Thank you so much to our volunteers who helped get our regular chores done, and those who decorated and helped facilitate the event. We could not have done it without you!

🍫 Also, thank you to @soulbrainvegan (https://eatsoulbrain.com/) for donating their handmade vegan chocolates for everyone’s goodie bag. Having vegan treats for was game changing for some of these families who have had to go through many hurdles to avoid non-vegan candy on Halloween!

We can’t wait for next year! Let us know—do you want us to have more kid-friendly visitor days? What holiday should we celebrate next with families and children?
